Waldland celebrates recorded and modern renovations in agriculture

Waldland, an important actor in agriculture, can look back on an extremely successful harvest season 2024. The commissioning of a new, modern system to take over grain has significantly improved the processes in the company. Contract farmers and employees were enthusiastic about the optimized processes. A new storage capacity has been created and an innovative cooling warehouse will be opened at the end of the year. This will also make it easier to use the products.

In the Oberwaltenreith region, the leading cultures such as the Waldviertel Graumohn, which has a protected designation of origin, and the Mariend thistle play a major role for the farmers of Waldland. This year the Graumohn blossomed particularly well on 1.5 hectares, which offered an impressive optical backdrop in the sense of a "national flag" and attracted visitors to the European Championship. The export of dinner tistulas to overseas markets recorded strong growth, which led to an expansion of the acreage and thus to the expansion of Waldland. Thanks to the favorable weather in summer, the yields in both cultures were pleasantly high, and the prices in the contract extension remain stable.

harvest and challenges

The main office of the multi -year cultures was closed before the flood disaster in the summer, which helped to avoid earnings failures. The distribution of precipitation in the Zwettl region, which was ideal for the seeds, was particularly positive. Some cultures had to wait a little longer because of the flood period, but the quality remained constant through modern harvesting techniques and committed employees throughout the season.

A real highlight in this year's harvest season was the harvest volume of the chives. Over 300,000 kg of dried chip rolls were harvested on an area of around 100 hectares. This number represents a new record and shows the success of the project, which has been running for 15 years. Waldland also celebrated its 40th anniversary in parallel with this recorded, which gave the departments and employees great joy.

It was a challenging time, but the celebrations went smoothly, which is particularly thanks to the strong infrastructure and the team spirit within the company. Together, the employees not only celebrated the successes of the harvest year, but also the developments and milestones of the past four decades. As Waldland explained in its anniversary festival, the focus is still on the development and expansion of acreage and the quality assurance of the products produced.
