Leopoldic concert in Zwettl: Young musicians inspire with diversity
On November 15th and 16th, 2023, the Zwettl city hall transformed into a place full of music and enthusiasm when the Musikverein C.M. Ziehrer invited to the traditional leopoldic concerts. Under the leadership of the experienced chapel master Herbert Grulich, the orchestra not only impressed by its skills, but also by the variety of programs.
A highlight of the evenings was the premiere of the play "Gobi", which was composed by the trumpeter Jürgen Hauer. This special performance provided great pleasure among those present and put the creative performance of the music association in the foreground. In addition to Hauer’s composition, works by famous composers such as Franz von Suppé and Carl Michael Ziehrer were also listed.

The concert series offered a colorful mix of carefully selected pieces. In addition to classic melodies, modern works, such as the hits of the British band Coldplay and pieces from the world -famous musical "The Phantom of Opera". Another highlight was melodies from the popular animated film "Ratatouille".
The audience was also able to look forward to the performance of the works "Battlestar" by Kees Vlak and the overture for the operetta "Freigeister", which are both part of the preparations for this year's concert music assessment of the music association. This careful selection of pieces of music showed the versatility and flexibility of the orchestra and focused on the talents of the young musicians.
The orchestra's excellent appearance was also recognized by the chairwoman Andrea Wiesmüller and the mayor Franz Mold, who were present on these unique evenings. Her joy about the successful concerts was unmistakable, which underlined the appreciation of the cultural contributions of the music association.
