Brutal kidnapping in Zwettl: Police quickly holds alleged perpetrators
A shocking incident shook the Zwettl district when a man was brutally kidnapped on Thursday, November 21. Three suspects are suspected of not only being physically attacked, but also blackmailed with a stressful video.
The public prosecutor's office in Krems and the State Police Directorate in Lower Austria (LPD) reported on the victim's violent kidnapping, which was struck during the incident and then dragged into a car. The perpetrators were in an escape vehicle and drove through the area in an uncontrolled manner while they demanded money and thus threatened to publish the victim's stressful video. On Friday morning, November 22nd, at 6:25 a.m., the officials managed to arrest the three men in Waidhofen. District Police Commander Paul Palisek found that the local emergency services, together with support from all over the region, were able to act quickly to identify and grasp the suspects.
The arrested were transferred to the Krems prison immediately after the detention. A court decided that custody would be imposed, which is initially limited to 14 days, which is another legal step in the case.
The arrest of the suspects follows a dramatic incident in which the victim ultimately found the opportunity to flee. During the trip, the vehicle in which it was recorded was involved in an accident. Thanks to the random stopping of the suspects, the man was finally able to flee and alert the police.
