Vehicle security in the Rohrbach district: Education and help with light problems

Rohrbach district. In a remarkable initiative, the police and ÖAMTC in the Rohrbach district pointed out the problem of defective vehicle headlights during the dark season. Instead of distributing expensive parking tickets, the officials and technicians prefer to help drivers and make their vehicles more secure.

During controls, vehicles that were on the road with poor lighting were stopped. To the astonishment of many affected drivers, however, they did not receive a parking ticket. The ÖAMTC technicians were on site and exchanged defective lamps directly. Where an immediate exchange was not possible, the drivers received vouchers for later lamps. In this way, a total of eight vehicles could be made safer on the streets in the Rohrbach district.

Why this action is important

The autumn and winter months bring shorter days and less favorable visibility, which increases the risk of traffic accidents, especially in poor lighting conditions. The action helps to raise awareness of the importance of functioning lighting and at the same time to promote a positive handling of traffic law regulations.

The aim of this cooperation between the police and the ÖAMTC was to work both preventively and enlightening. Due to the direct exchange on the spot, those responsible were able to act quickly and ensure that drivers came home more safely. Such measures show how important safety is and that you sometimes have to find creative solutions to promote the common good. More information about this initiative can be here
