Beekraft from Rohrbach: Local beekeepers shine in honey award

Rohrbach district. In the sweet world of honey, excellent products were again awarded at the recent award in Wieselburg. The event attracts honey lovers and beekeepers from all over Austria, and some medals went to the winners from the Rohrbach district.

Hugo Gumpenberger from Altenhofen near Sarleinsbach stands out among the winners, who is known as an experienced beekeeper. He was happy and took several medals home with him. In the forest honey category, he received the gold medal for his "Mühl4tler Bio Honig I" and "Mühl4tler Bio Honey II". In addition, his forest honey was awarded a silver medal, which demonstrates its excellent quality.

Another award went to Gottfried Maureder from St. Martin, who was able to look forward to a silver medal for his "Mühlviertler Cremehonig". The jury was visibly inspired by the taste and texture of the Cremehonig, which is reflected in the decision.

These honors took place as part of the 22nd edition of the coveted product award "Die Goldene Honigwabe". This year 1,337 rehearsals of 633 participants from all federal states and the adjacent countries were submitted. The competition was tough, and a total of only 18 times the highest possible award, the "Golden Honey Woves", was awarded. The event once again underlines the importance and diversity of honey production in Austria.
