AMS Rohrbach: Qualification funding as a solution to the shortage of skilled workers

ROHRBACH MOUNTAIN.In times of the current shortage of skilled workers, further training and the qualification of employees play a central role. To support this, the AMS Rohrbach uses measures in the form of qualification grants that are intended to help companies optimally train their workforce.

“The demand for skilled workers is high and it is becoming increasingly important to train and further educate existing employees,” explains Doris Steiner, the branch manager of AMS Rohrbach. Particular mention is made here of options for financing further training programs for employees who have not completed their schooling beyond compulsory school and who are 50 years old or older. But female employees also benefit, regardless of their age and level of training. It should be particularly emphasized that in certain cases up to 50 percent of the personnel costs incurred during the qualification measures are funded.

Unemployment rate in the district

The success of these support measures is also reflected in the current labor market figures in the Rohrbach district: at the end of October, 495 people were registered as looking for work, which corresponds to a remarkably low unemployment rate of just 2 percent. For comparison, the unemployment rate across Upper Austria is 4.6 percent, which shows that Rohrbach-Berg performed well in regional comparison and can benefit from the effects of the AMS initiatives. These figures demonstrate the positive development of the labor market and the relevance of further training offers in order to train the skilled workers of tomorrow.

These initiatives should not be underestimated, especially in an economic environment that is increasingly dependent on well-trained and qualified employees. Targeted promotion of qualifications could contribute to the long-term stability and growth of the regional economy.
