The encounter took place in the impressive arena of Sturm Graz, where the spectators expected a gripping match.Although the first minutes of the game had no special shine, things quickly picked up speed. In the 14th minute, great tried to give up the first shot from the penalty area, but the ball passed significantly past the goal. Just a minute later followed another attempt by Great, the end of which the Sturm goalkeeper was able to fend off. A subsequent header was also successfully parried.

In the 24th minute it was the SK Sturm that had his first dangerous chance. After a counterattack, a cross came from the left side, which was not optimally defended by the defense of the Rieder. Kiedl tried it from an acute angle, but his shot landed in the field. However, the Rieder stayed on the pusher and rewarded each other in the 32nd minute. Wohluth put a high ball with his head into the center, where Eza scored 0: 1 and significantly influenced the game. The first half clearly belonged to the SV Ried, who were determining the events on the square, while the Amas of the SK Sturm brought little.
The second half initially started with a shot from Kern, which, however, clearly missed the gate. After this goal, SV Ried continued to check the game and left the SK Sturm hardly any opportunities for effective attacks.
