On Friday, November 29, this year's school radio day will take place from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., which was launched by the free radios in Austria. Their main goals are to introduce students to the world of the radio and give them the opportunity to work creatively. All programs are live on www.radio-fri.at

This year the school radio day is under the motto "Ears and pencils tips". The participating students will learn in a playful way how to design a radio show. Exciting radio plays, rousing reports and funny interviews are planned, while the exact program remains under closure. It should be emphasized that the students of the Ried high school will design their own 25-minute program.

In the past, various important topics have already been dealt with as part of the school radio day. These include bullying at school, dreams and celebrations, as well as social aspects such as the gender pay gap and cyber security. The contents offer the students the opportunity to deal with current social challenges, such as climate change and social justice.

The idea behind this day is not only to bring the radio closer to the radio as a medium, but also to encourage it to take on different roles. Be it moderating, interviewing or the technical part of the program. Through this practical experience, students can learn to consciously reflect on their own media use and to understand the many facets of media production.
