A tragic incident occurred in Ried im Innkreis, where a young man is in court on suspicion of murder. The 22-year-old is said to have killed his own father with nine knife stings. The background of the tragic event goes back to January 19, 2024 when the defendant actually wanted to start his apprenticeship as a baker. But apparently he was under the influence of drugs and could therefore not appear to work. This condition should lead to a violent argument between father and son. According to the indictment, the father, who was heavily drunk at the time of the incident, noticed the situation and made massive accusations to his son.

The dispute and its escalation

The verbal exchange of blows between the two men escalated when the son put two slaps in the face to the father. The father reacted by getting a rifle and shot into the ceiling. This threat caused the son to take a knife on hand. In this dramatic moment, the father gave a shot that went into the room in which the son was.

The action took a fatal turn when the father had a load inhibition of his rifle. The 22-year-old took advantage of this and stabbed his father. The seriously injured man fled to neighbors who provided first aid. Unfortunately, the 59-year-old succumbed to his injuries in the hospital a little later.

The public prosecutor considers the crime circumstances as a murder because it believes that there was no self -defense in this case. If the accused is convicted, he threatens a prison sentence of at least ten years to life imprisonment. In addition, in the course of the process, it was found that the young man is accountable, but is still considered dangerous.
