Neo-Nazi scandal: Innviertler with ten criminal records in court!
A scandalous process at the regional court of Ried accepts dramatic proportions: a 59-year-old man from Eggelsberg, already known as a repeat offender, is again on trial, this time due to re-activation. According to krone.at , a frightening collection of Nazi devotionals was discovered at a search of his residence, including symbols such as the "black sun", which he surprisingly paved in his house entrance. In addition, the investigators found weapons and even fake money.
The man had apparently ambitious to build a "Nazi Museum" in Zwettl, in which he wanted to exhibit objects such as "Hitler wine", daggers and uniforms from the Nazi era. This was done against the background that he is already a criminal record for drug trafficking and other offenses. In the raid in 2023, dozens of weapons and drugs were found in his possession, which makes his approach all the more dramatic. During the trial, the defendant largely refused to say what his defense passed on the legacy of his late father.
Legal history on the dock
The case of the Eggelsberger is only part of a larger, disturbing image that shapes Austrian history. As The press reported, numerous former ministers and even two Chancellor were on trial. The spectacular judgments underline how close rise and fall in the political system. From misappropriated union money to corruption - the list continues.
An example of this is the conviction of the former Interior Minister Franz Olah, who abused funds for party political purposes. Even recent cases such as the conviction of Karl-Heinz Grasser in prison due to his participation in one of the greatest corruption investigations in post-war history show that the dock is not only reserved for ordinary citizens, but also captivates high-ranking politicians.
