Bruckner meets brass music: premiere of contemporary works in Ried
In Upper Austria it will soon become musically exciting, because twelve contemporary composers bring the symphonies of Anton Bruckner into a completely new sound dimension. On October 12, a number of new compositions, inspired by Bruckner's work, will be performed live by the renowned symphonic wind orchestra Ried as part of a special project. These concerts are not only a tribute to Bruckner, but also a platform for the creativity of the domestic composers.
The initiator of this project is Martin L. Fiala, who acts as chairman of the Upper Austrian composer association. In a conversation, he emphasized the intention that contemporary voices should also have a say in Bruckner. This project, called "Everyone have a motif! Upper Austria. Composer meet Anton Bruckner", accepted an invitation from the governor Thomas Stelzer and is all about artistic exchange between past and the present.
a meeting of the styles
The composers had the task of dealing with the various Sinfonies of Bruckner, including the first nine, as well as the outlined 0. Symphony and the study information. Fiala explained that all twelve addressed musicians were immediately enthusiastic about this challenge. He himself devoted himself to the unfinished 9th symphony and contributed a significant part to performance with his contribution.
The resulting five -minute compositions reflect an exciting mix of innovative sounds and use extraordinary instruments. In addition to traditional orchestral materials, new sound bodies such as the Didgeridoo, the violin and even singing voices are also used. Overall, a picture of a dynamic zeitgeist of contemporary music is drawn, which includes well -known composers such as Waldek and Insand as well as young talents such as Tina Geroldinger.
"It will be an exciting challenge for the audience to discover the appendix to Bruckner in these new compositions," said Fiala about the upcoming performances. According to Fiala, the musicians of the Symphonic Wind Orchestra Ried are also enthusiastic about the new, avant -garde pieces that were developed in the rehearsals. He encourages the listeners to also get involved in the unknown: "This is beautiful, audible music that offers something for everyone."
The concert series starts in Ried on October 12th and then leads to Gunskirchen on October 13, followed by appearances in St. Martin in the Mühlkreis on October 19 and in Steyr on November 9th.
