Construction site A8: Massive renovation ensures traffic jams and traffic chaos!
On the busy Innkreutobahn A8, the road between the city and Ried is renewed with an investment of around 20 million euros. The work, which will be estimated until October 2024, affect a section of around nine kilometers and take place in both directions. Progress in road renovation are urgently needed, because this route is particularly stressed by heavy -duty traffic, which has a share of over 30 percent in total traffic, as reports.
construction site stress despite renovation
Unfortunately, the current work on the motorway is limited, because the speed is limited to 80 km/h during the construction period. During the renovation, however, two lanes with a passage width of 4.5 meters are available in each direction of travel. "The renovation work takes place during the day, although we have to be flexible depending on the weather," said motorway master Christian Stiglbauer. Disorders in traffic, especially during the holiday season, are inevitable and can lead to traffic jams that often occur without a construction site, according to Stiglbauer. In the event of an emergency, a solution will be found for emergency vehicles by opening the construction site or blocking parts of the oncoming lane.
This comprehensive renovation follows for work that took place in the previous year, including the renewal of noise protection systems and bridges. Overall, the investment amount for the entire project is an impressive 40 million euros, as meinbezirk.at . In the renovations, emphasis was placed on the longevity of the materials to ensure safety and comfort for the users of the highway.
