Future perspectives: Career fairs impress in the Mühlviertel
In Upper Austria, the Mühlviertel presents itself more stable than expected despite economic challenges. While large companies transmit negative reports in the region, small and medium -sized companies bloom. Proof of this are the numerous exhibitors who are represented at the career fairs on Friday and Saturday in Freistadt and Perg."We are recording a record of exhibitors," explains Evelyn Wiesberger, the project manager of the Perger professional and educational fair. On Friday and Saturday, 59 apprenticeships, nine schools and five consulting organizations show promising job and training opportunities. "The fair offers young people an ideal way to lay the foundations of their professional future in the region," emphasizes Eveline Grabmann, the chamber chairman.
diverse offers in the region
A highlight of the event in Perg is Schöfer GmbH from Schwertberg. "The labor market is increasingly becoming a challenge. That is why we are continuously looking for young talents that want to establish itself in the areas of plastic technology, mechatronics and tool construction technology," explains Sylvia Kapplmüller, head of the HR department. The company offers incentives such as a buddy system, language trips and a ticket for public transport to win young people.
In Freistadt, the exhibition halls will transform into a large career platform on Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. A total of 72 exhibitors will be present there to show young people perspectives that they can choose according to the compulsory school. Dietmar Wolfsegger, the district office manager of the Freistadt Chamber of Commerce, expects around 2500 visitors. At the stands, the training companies not only have information, but also practical opportunities to try out craft professions.
In order to arouse the interest of young visitors, the exhibitors in Freistadt rely on creative ideas. With the help of 3D glasses, the youngsters can experience what it is like to work as a high-heeling builder and pour a concrete ceiling. In addition, a talent check is available in which the participants can test their interests and skills.
These events play a central role in informing young people in the region about their professional options and facilitating them to get started with the world of work. The lively participation and the great interest show that there are opportunities that remain despite the difficult economic situation.
