Katsdorf. On November 26th, the Austria premiere of the documentary "The Last Seed" will take place in the Kino Katsdorf. This film, part of the film days for the right to food, deals with the complex seed policy and its extensive effects on the farmers in various African countries, including South Africa, Tanzania and Senegal. In view of the alarming numbers about global hunger - up to 783 million people are affected and more than 2.3 billion have no access to healthy foods - this film takes a critical look at the global challenges of food production.

"The Last Seed" will be shown on Tuesday, November 26th, at 7:30 p.m. in the German -language version. Suitable for spectators from the age of 12, the film focuses on the challenges of African agriculture. The passionate commitment of the farmers who fight against powerful companies is recognized to protect their seeds and thus their livelihood.
After the performance, there is a film discussion in which agricultural expert Ambrose Osakwe from Caritas will be present. He brings valuable insights from his projects in Congo and Burundi and discusses what farmers in Austria can learn from their African colleagues, especially with regard to the progressive climate crisis.
