In the picturesque region around All Saints' Day, Rechberg and Perg, a very special sporting event was recently held: the ITN tennis tournament "Mühlviertel Open 2024". On two September weekends, the spectators were able to experience exciting matches, but one stood out-the only 13-year-old Noah Brunhofer. He not only prevailed against the sharpest competition in the final, but also set an impressive record.
The young tennis player from Aisthofen, who was discovered the day before in Linz by coaches of the Austrian Tennis Association ÖTV, showed impressive tennis in the final. He dominated his opponent, the top seed Martin Gottsbachner from Windhaag with precise blows and an aggressive style of play, and secured the title that could certainly promise him a bright future in sport.

The organization of the tournament was the result of a successful cooperation between the Tennis Club All Saints' Day, the Union Rechberg and the gymnasium Perg. Together they offered the 49 participating players the opportunity to compete in several tournaments. In addition to the main competition, there was also a B tournament for players who left the first round, as well as preliminary round games and a show match. The latter was a special highlight because Horst Kroiss from Traun was 1,250 as part of this show match. ÖTV rating match successfully contested.
The tournament was not only designed for competitive sports; A supporting program was also offered that was designed with DJ, live music and catering for the audience. The event was a successful mix of sporting competition and social event.

A novelty this year was the introduction of material prizes for the winners of each round of the main competition. In addition, special awards were awarded for both the youngest participant, Noah Brunhofer and the oldest player, Franz Gstöttenbauer from Aisthofen. The remarkable age difference of 44 years between the two participants shows that the "Mühlviertel Open" is a challenge for tennis players of all generations.
