Early spectacle: Obertraun celebrates 10 years of Krampus tradition

Obertraun. This year's “Krampus spectacle” has now taken place for the seventh time and transformed the Obertrauner community square into an eerie place full of magic and tension. Ten groups with over 140 performers showed an impressive performance that spectators captivated.

in decorated, carved masks and colorful, shaggy robes, the Krampuses, Perchten and even good angels provided a breathtaking atmosphere. Loud bell sound and a lot of smoke helped to convert the square into a bubbling cauldron. This spectacle offered the numerous visitors an unforgettable experience. The Obertrauner Nikolaus and Krampus Association, under the direction of chairman Leo Putz, celebrates its tenth anniversary this year as an independent association. In this short time, the association won over 30 active members who are passionate about the success of the event.
