49th conference of the fire brigade medical service: a success in Puchenau
On Saturday evening, November 23, 2024, the 49th conference of the Fire Brigade Medical Service took place in the booking hall in Puchenau. The event attracted 155 fire brigade members from the Urfahr district and beyond, including comrades from the Rohrbach, Freistadt, Linz-Land, Grieskirchen, Braunau, Linz fire brigade. This shows the broad support and commitment to the training and cooperation of these rescue workers.
The conference began with greetings from district commander OBR Ing. Johannes Enzenhofer, who thanked the numerous participants and the municipality of Puchenau for the provision of the event hall. The Puchenau fire brigade also received recognition for their pilot service and the entertainment of the guests.

E-OBR Manfred Mayerhofer, BR Kurt Reiter, as well as important personalities such as the district fire brigade doctor Dr. Matthias Kölbl and Mag. Maria Luise Ettmayer from the education management of the state fire brigade command OÖ were also present. This conference offered an excellent platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
Three exciting lectures were presented to the participants: The emergency paramedic Martin Gossenreiter reported on major damage management and the effective cooperation in dealing with several patients. Katja Sieper, the head of the crisis assistant's business field, spoke on the important topic of violence and aggression against emergency services , while Andreas Manigatterer, senior flight rescue from ÖAMTC Christophorus 10, explained the flight rescue and her collaboration.
These topics are of central importance for the challenges that emergency services are facing today. Violence against emergency services in particular is an alarming phenomenon that requires increasing attention.
After the lectures, those present were given the opportunity to ask questions and step into a dialogue. This exchange promoted networking among the participating fire brigade members and other rescue workers. Such encounters are essential to exchange proven practices and to ensure that the emergency services are prepared for their tasks as best as possible.
