KTM bankruptcy: Labor market service is preparing for job loss tonsami!
A thunderstorm is brewed in Upper Austria! According to the ORF Experts expect massive job losses, especially at KTM, where 250 employees have already experienced on Monday. The Situation could continue to worsen because numerous supplier companies are also affected. The labor market service (AMS) Upper Austria reacts to these alarming developments and pulls its trump card - a work foundation - out of the pocket to help those affected as soon as possible.
A round table in the Linz country house is on the agenda on Thursday. Here the establishment of a so-called insolvency foundation is to be discussed, which allows large groups of job seekers to continue and train quickly. Iris Schmidt, Managing Director of the AMS, explained that the cost of training will be between 13,000 and 14,000 euros per place. The state of Upper Austria and the AMS will share the expenditure to quickly bring the employees back into working life. Economic State Council Markus Achleitner is optimistic and emphasized that over 3,000 vacancies in the Innviertel region and around 20,000 vacancies are available throughout Upper Austria.
Planning and implementation of auxiliary measures
The mammoth task for the AMS begins, since many affected people have to struggle with burning questions about their demands on unemployment benefit. In this context, Schmidt announced that on Friday a team of around 15 people will leave the Innviertel to discuss the next steps with the employees. However, the exact number of upcoming layoffs is still in the fog. "We are preparing ourselves," said Schmidt, alluding to the uncertain location, while at the same time the focus is on the supplier companies that could also come into the downward suction, such as Today. reported.
