Kirchdorf's Viehscheid: a festival of tradition and community
The sixth cattle sheaid of the Huber family in Kirchdorf was a complete success, and the weather played along as desired. Although dark clouds darkened the sky at the beginning and worried questions, it stayed dry. "When preparing in the courtyard, I kissed the sun, but the dark clouds caused some unrest," said the daughter Simone. Such a folk festival has become a real highlight for the family and the village community.
After the herd's reception at the courtyard, we went over a dirt road to Fichtenstraße, where numerous spectators saw the spectacle. The cattle shee, once created from small beginnings, has developed for a wonderful village festival. Gertrud Huber looked back nostalgically: "Simone was involved in the cattle Scheid in Hindelang years ago, and so the idea came up to organize this here too. At that time we had to borrow the clamps of the cows from there, now we are well equipped." Her son Thomas added that you have even bought your own clamps.
a festival for the whole family
The celebrations had reached their peak when the Kirchdorf musicians played in the cleared stadium until the evening. The spatiality was filled to the bursting, and the participants came not only from Kirchdorf, but from the surrounding places. The festival has made a name for itself beyond the borders of the village. "First we only worked with this event, now the Musikverein also support us," explained Gertrud Huber.
Another highlight was the wreath cattle "solo". The four -year -old animal was visited by everyone and was photographed as a photo model for numerous pictures. "I have a special connection to" Solo "because it was one of the last calves that we still had," remarked son Thomas Stolz. The preparations to clean the animal sparkling clean were aptly documented.
cows with its own will
essential for the event were the young drivers who were responsible for the safe way back to the herd. A total of 13 boys and a girl took over this important part. The task proved to be more difficult than expected when the cows wanted to strive for the adjacent meadows. The two youngest drivers, Luis and Benedikt from Ramingen, beamed with enthusiasm: "It was great to be there! We even carved our sticks ourselves." With the traditional costumes they looked like real shepherds.
The support of parents, grandparents and other onlookers was also considerable. They were impressed by the event and were happy about the musical entertainment through the alphorn players. "It is something special that is being done here," she said proudly.
family Huber was relieved by the successful downforce: "The many visitors are the reward for our efforts." At the same time, however, there was uncertainty about the future development of the courtyard, as upcoming strict regulations to adjoin the cows are challenges. "We have to see how we can do it," considered the family, who always tries to implement their tradition.
