New opening in Bad Schallerbach: The Kimm Owa blooms under Heidi Hitzl

Bad Schallerbach. The popular "Kimm Owa" restaurant has now opened its doors again after a long closure, with a new line. The experienced restaurateur Heidi Hitzl has decided to revive the restaurant that received a small renewal after a year of inaction.

Heidi Hitzl has many years of experience in the catering trade. Previously, she led the "Diana" restaurant in Wallern and has been active on Lake Atters in the past 16 years. "I was looking for an apartment and found the 'Kimm Owa'," the 57-year-old describes her Motivation to take over the restaurant. The opening was a complete success, as she reports with a smile: "The hut was full on the opening day."

The landlady came up with a special service by the end of the year. She plans to open the "Kimm Owa" every day from Monday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to midnight. For the guests there is not only a regular menu that focuses on tasty home cooking, but also every day from Monday to Friday.

Another highlight are the dance evenings that take place on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays when a DJ creates a mood. So far, Heidi Hitzl has headed the restaurant alone, supported by temporary help. In the new year, she will adapt the opening times to the actual need, which shows that she wants to react flexibly to the wishes of her guests.

Although the "Kimm Owa" was without operators for a year, return to the catering scene is an important step for Bad Schallerbach. The previous operator, Karo Zauner, had withdrawn in 2023, creating a gap that is now filled by Hitzl.

The landlady also found an apartment nearby just a few days after taking over the restaurant, which makes it much easier for her to start. The progress and commitment of Heidi Hitzl are not only happy, but also the numerous guests who can look forward to a great gastronomic experience.
