Pensioners' Association Gmunden: A review and outlook on the year 2023

Bad Ischl. In an atmospheric ambience, the Gmunden Pensioners' Association met for the annual financial statement meeting in the "Café Empress Elisabeth" in Lauffen. District chairman Gerhard Mayr opened the event and welcomed numerous guests. Among them were Member of the Landtag Mario Haas, Mayor Leopold Schilcher from Bad Goisern and Jutta Kepplinger, the state manager of the Upper Austria Pensioners' Association. The delegates of the local groups of the Gmunden district were also present in large numbers.

In his highly awaited record of the past year, Mayr reported that the association currently has 4,588 members. The importance of membership recruitment was emphasized. In addition, he called for the timely regulation of succession within the board to secure the continued existence of the association. A respectful commemoration of the dead was held for 168 deceased members who are preserved an honorable memory.

In addition to the cash report, which confirmed proper financial management, the diverse sporting and cultural activities of the association were recognized. Successful events in various disciplines, such as skiing, asphalt shooting and bowling, provided great joy and cohesion in the association. There were also specific travel plans, including a district trip to Burgenland for August 2025.

Jutta Kepplinger, the state manager, emphasized the excellent work of the Pensioners' Association and underlined the need for a strong community to be heard in important socio -political issues. This opinion was also shared by Haas and Mayor Schilcher, who praised the tireless efforts for the interests of the older generation.

An important point of the session was the handover of the chair. Gerhard Mayr, who was passed down, will be released to Josef Immlauer at the next annual general meeting. The end of the event was a lunch together, in which conversations in a sociable group took place.
