On Friday, November 29, the "School radio day 2024" will be carried out nationwide. In this context, all 15 “free radios” work with school classes to present the creative work of the students. Particularly noteworthy is the cooperation between the Free Radio Freistadt and the middle school in Neumarkt in the Mühlkreis. This year the students deal intensively with the topic of artificial intelligence (AI).

Under the motto "Ears and Pencils" pencils, the students immerse themselves in the world of radio. This not only creates exciting radio plays, but also captivating reports and clever interviews that are promoted by creative thinking processes. The commitment in this project is remarkable because the students analyze the advantages and disadvantages of AI and question critically.

The students of the "media creative branch" at MS Neumarkt i. In her program, Mühlkreis discusses the reinforcing presence of artificial intelligence in our everyday life. You ask important questions: Is AI a potential danger or rather a useful tool? This topic is particularly topical and requires a differentiated view.

An important part of the project was a workshop, which was led by media educators Sissi Kaiser and Tom Beyer. Here the students received deeper insights into the topic of AI. They learned how AI is used in different areas and how they can benefit from this technology themselves. At the same time, the focus was also on possible dangers that could go hand in hand with the use of AI.

The students have expanded both their knowledge and their practical skills in radio journalism through this intensive discussion. The results of her work flow into the show embedded, which is broadcast live outdoors on the free radio on the school radio day at 4 p.m. This offers the students a valuable way to present their creative work to a wider audience and at the same time to deepen their understanding of a future -proof topic.
