Emma Felbermayr celebrates strong F1 Academy entry into China!

Shanghai, China - Emma Felbermayr impressively opened in her debut in the F1 Academy in China. On Sunday, during the start of the season as part of Formula 1, the talented 18-year-old from Upper Austria achieved an extremely respectable fifth place at the final race and thus collected her first points in the series. After a turbulent first race, in which she was shot by another driver in the penultimate curve and fell back to eleven, Felbermayr showed an error -free performance in the second event of the weekend at the Shanghai International Circuit and even overtook the Saturday winner Alisha Palmowski.

strong comeback on the racing site

Overall, Felbermayr had to start in the final run from seventh place, a position that she had reached in the qualifications on Friday. The start of the race was postponed at short notice and finally started behind the Safety Car. But the Welser could not be disturbed. In round 9 she overtook Palmowski and secured fifth place at the finish line. This gave her ten World Cup points in the overall ranking and catapulted her to sixth place, while the leading Doriane Pin (Prema Racing), who won on Sunday, already has 31 points on her account. The F1 Academy, under the direction of Susie Wolff, offers women a platform in motorsport, whereby all ten Formula 1 teams nominate a pilot.

In the third season of the F1 Academy, the next event for Felbermayr is planned in Jeddah/Saudi Arabia in one month, where it continues to start clean for the New Zealand team Rodin Motorsport in combination with a youth contract with the Formula 1 team. A big step in her career, which shows that despite the setbacks she has the potential to assert herself in the male domain Formula 1, as already from krone.at and laola1.at
