The accident occurred at 9:15 p.m. on Mattseerstrasse when a 24-year-old Polish citizen from the Braunau district was traveling towards Pfaffstätt. At the same time, a 53-year-old man, also from the region, steered his vehicle in the opposite direction. As the police reported, the frontal collision of the two cars occurred for previously unknown reasons, which were thrown into the fences of adjacent plots due to the force of the impact. Both drivers were injured and had to take the Braunau am Inn hospital after the first aid. The alcohol tests showed positive values for both drivers, as the Upper Austria police said.

In the further course there was a collision with the car of a 27-year-old Bosnian citizen, who also sat in the vehicle with her children and other family members. The injured people were brought to various surrounding hospitals, as the LPD Upper Austria reported.
