75th Upper Austrian state championships: Local talents in weightlifting in the focus
On November 30, 2024, the 75th Upper Austria state championships will take place in the weight lifter Center Ranshofen, an event that is of great importance for many athletes in the region. The event begins at 10 a.m. and 67 participants from six Upper Austrian associations are expected. Among them are numerous top athletes, such as the U23 European champion Hmayak Misakyan, who is preparing for the upcoming World Cup in Bahrain.
A special highlight of the championships will be the strong presence of the athletes from the Innviertel. Thirteen and even twenty athletes from the ATSV Ranshofen and the Union are even twenty, which makes up almost half of the total number of participants. This high participation shows the commitment and ambition of the regional athletes.
The big favorites
The chances of the Innviertler on a medal are considerable. In the U9 class, the twins Anna and Julia Windhager from the Union are fighting for the title. In the U11 age group, Fabio Modrey from Vöest has the best cards. His strongest competitors will be Konstantin Ecker from Ranshofen and Patrick Madeegger of Lochen.
in the U13 female Elisabeth Ecker stands up as a favorite. Doris Schober and Luisa Reisinger will target the medal places. Juliane Madeegger from Lochen is also a hot candidate in the 49 kg class, while the U17 EM bronze medalist Veronika Honcharova dominates the 59 kg class and has to prepare for hard competition between Johanna Bruckbauer and Helena Maderegger.
In the 64 kg class, Petra Schmutzer is led by the Union Lochen, followed by an exciting triathlon for the podium between Krepper, Bartsch and the Linzer Verena Jax. The 71 kg class is dominated by national coach Victoria Hahn, while Anna Denk has the medal opportunities in the 81 kg class.
In the men, Hmayak Misakyan will lead the 89 kg class, while at the same time seeing the competition as the last test for the important world championship. Luca Modrey will be the favorite in the 96 kg area, followed by his competitors Manuel Littringer, Florian Reisecker and Maximilian Moldashl. Florian Hofwimmer seems to be in the lead for the 102 kg class, and Sargis Martirosjan has good chances of winning in the class over 102 kg.
The schedule promises an exciting event: at 10:00 a.m. the offspring begins with categories 49 kg and 59 kg. The women and men in different classes will follow from 12:00 p.m., with the last competitions for 5:30 p.m.
