Zwettler fire brigade historians shine in the international exchange in Athens
The 31st International Conference of the Working Group for Fire Brigade and Fire Protection History recently took place in Athens. At this important meeting, four representatives from the Zwettl district were present, who deal intensively with the history and development of the fire brigade. The participants Karl Kainrath, Gerhard Schneider, Ewald Edelmaier and Franz Müllner are active as a clerk for fire brigade history and thus actively contribute to researching and preserving this important tradition.
The conference was organized by the International Technical Committee for Preventive Fire Protection and Fire Derivis (CTIF), a global organization that has been responsible for the safety of firefighters around the world since 1900. Their work focuses on improving security standards and supporting firefighters in different countries. Such international events not only offer a platform for the exchange of information, but also the opportunity to share proven procedures and to discuss new approaches in fire fighting.
The goals of the conference
The focus was on various topics at this conference, including current developments in fire engineering and the importance of fire brigade history research for the training of future generations of firefighters. In addition, the role of the fire brigade in society was discussed in order to raise awareness of its important function.
The Zwettler representatives reported on their experiences and how historical events have shaped the understanding and practice of fire fighting. The exchange with experts from other countries was also a central part of the conference, which gained valuable international perspectives and knowledge.
In addition, the participants took the opportunity to find out about new technologies and innovations in fire fighting that aim to increase the safety of firefighters during their missions. Such information is crucial to improve efficiency and security in practice.
Participation in the conference in Athens is an important step in order to not only preserve the fire brigade history, but also to develop further. The exchange with colleagues from other parts of the world not only strengthens relationships within the fire brigade community, but also contributes to the training and further education of specialists.
The importance of such international meetings is becoming increasingly clear, especially when it comes to promoting knowledge and exchanging experiences. This is particularly important in times when new challenges and dangers appear in fire fighting that require innovative solutions. The work of the fire brigade is not only locally, but globally important.
