Zwettl, Österreich - A shocking event put the region in dismay on February 6th in the Zwettlbad in the Waldviertel. An 18-year-old woman collapsed during her stay in the indoor pool, which led to an immediate rescue operation. Employees of the bathroom company immediately alerted the Red Cross. In the meantime, a nurse from the sauna area and a randomly present doctor provided first aid. Despite intensive efforts on site, the young woman was taken to the Zwettl hospital, where only brain death could be determined. Particularly dramatic: the woman was pregnant at this point. Her partner was also on site and experienced the tragic events up close. According to media reports, the woman probably consumed cocaine, which indicates a possible cause of her condition, as Linzer Tages-Post emphasized.
