Wiener Neustadt celebrates the Advent season with a special advent calendar

The city of Wiener Neustadt has launched an exciting initiative to beautify the upcoming Christmas season for its citizens and visitors. From December 1st, an advent calendar will be provided in the city center, which was initiated by city councilor Erika Buchinger and the entrepreneur Anneliese Blümel. The calendar will have 24 small surprises ready to discover users in participating shops.

Behind the 24 doors hide gifts worth around 50 euros, which are provided by various inner city companies. This strategy should not only increase the anticipation for Christmas, but also support the local economy. The participating shops are equipped with special Advent boxes through which the surprises are visible.

Mayor Klaus Schneeberger and City Councilor Erika Buchinger expressed a positive statement about this project and emphasized the importance of the city center for the local community. "An advent calendar for our city center, an advent calendar to promote the inner -city economy! A great idea that can put a smile on the face to visitors," said the two. The calendar is a first step into a number of actions to revitalize the city center of Wiener Neustadt and strengthen the civic bond.

Every day, the first paying customers of the day are given the opportunity to win a surprise. The shops that are closed on a Sunday note the day before, on which day the surprise is offered. The participating companies include a wide range, including fashion shops, jewelers and many more.
