In the contemplative pre -Christmas period, the Lower Austria trains become a popular means of transport for excursions to atmospheric Christmas markets. Whether for big or small - the trains offer numerous special trips to get together in a festive mood.

The Lower Austria Bahnen offer the opportunity to enjoy the Wachau Advent around the picturesque Castle of Dürnstein on three Advent weekends (7th-8th and December 21st). Extra trains run directly from Vienna to Krems. In addition, Nicholas drives the Reblaus Express from Retz to Drosendorf on December 7th. On November 30th, the Waldviertelbahn dissolves its winter break and transports visitors to the Litschauer and Weitraer Advent.
