Bicycle repair pillars in Steinabrück: a swing for commuters!
In today's fast -moving time, more and more people are deciding to use the bike for their daily way to work or in their free time. This is not only a practical solution, but also a step towards more sustainable mobility.
To meet this trend and increase the attractiveness of cycling, it is important to create suitable infrastructure and set incentives. In cooperation with the state of Lower Austria, the ÖAMTC has therefore equipped various municipalities with cycling pillars to improve the possibilities for cyclists.
Small service work for everyone
A new ÖAMTC bicycle base has now been opened in Steinabrück. The 1.4 meter high repair column is located on the Wassergasse, corner of Hauptstraße, directly on the Piestingtaler bike and hiking trail. Here cyclists can attach their own bicycles via a practical hanging device and find compressed air as well as a variety of tools such as inbus and wrenches. In this way, smaller breakdowns and repairs can be done quickly and easily.
Mayor Gustav Glöckler, together with the community team, is positive about the new achievement: “The bicycle base of the ÖAMTC offers cyclists the opportunity to serve their bikes quickly and easily-another important measure to attract our bike infrastructure.”
ÖAMTC breakdown help for cyclists
Walter Schmitl, the head of the ÖAMTC base in Wiener Neustadt, adds that the wheel repair column offers valuable help once the air goes out or other problems arise. Cycling becomes easier because breakdowns can be remedied immediately without having to wait for professional help. If a breakdown cannot be fixed yourself, help can easily be requested via the emergency number 120 or the ÖAMTC app.
The introduction of these bicycle base points is part of the comprehensive service offers from the ÖAMTC for cyclists. This includes not only the free review of e-bike batteries and the bicycle service, but also mobile breakdown aid and regularly offered e-bike courses.
