Successful appearance: Diana Porsche and Max Kühner in the World Cup in Lyon
in Lyon, the Austrian dressage rider Diana Porsche, together with her long-time partner, the gelding Douglas, took part in the third World Cup tournament of the season. This was the first stage of the Western Europe League, after previous competitions in Olmütz (Czech Republic) and Samorin (Slovakia). Despite strong competition, the duo achieved 12th place in two exams: in the Grand Prix with 69.044 % and in the freestyle with a flawless round that brought them 72.940 %, which finally brought 6 World Cup points and secured Porsche in the overall ranking.
The tournament victory went to the German rider Isabell Werth with DSP Quantaz, which impressed with 84.741 %, followed by Patrik Kittel from Sweden on Touchdown and the French woman Pauline Basquin, who achieved Sertorius de Rima z evaluation of 81.915 %. Porsche is particularly proud of the common career with Douglas, an impressive Dutch gelding, which is now at the height of his career. "Douglas means everything to me and I love him with all my heart," said the passionate rider. The 17-year-old Douglas has had a long career and Porsche is already thinking about suitable successors. A candidate is the ten -year -old Dahoud, who still has to work on his potential.
A new chapter with IMHOTEP
Another important step in Porsche's career is the takeover of the KWPN-Wallach IMHOTEP, formerly ridden by the British Olympic champion Charlotte Dujardin. IMHOTEP has already won numerous successes, among other things, he was part of the silver team at the World Championships 2022 in Herning as well as he won gold and twice bronze at the European Championships 2023. Porsche plans to work with this talented horse carefully. "I want to take the time I need to gain experience with him without pressure," she explained her approach. She also thanked the previous owner and dujardin for the trust.
Max Kühner and Elektric Blue P
in the jumping riding, Max Kühner was also successful with his horse Elektric Blue P. The two are known for their excellent interaction and also felt this during the competition in Lyon. In World Cup jumping, they made it easy to get into play, where they achieved the fastest time of 37.04 seconds. However, a failed last jump prevented a better place and ultimately meant 8th.
Advantage from Kühner's drop pulled the German Richard Vogel, who was not only three tenths slower with United Touch S, but also crossed the finish without errors. So he secured victory. The next stop of the World Cup series will be in Verona, Italy, where Kühner will also be at the start next weekend.
