Municipal council of Waidhofen unanimously speaks for clinicers
The municipality of Waidhofen an der Thaya passed a resolution on Wednesday, November 13th, which is committed to the full maintenance of the state clinic. The uniform decision was taken at a meeting of the local council after city councilor Gottfried Waldhäusl (FPÖ) had submitted an urgent request. This application was then slightly modified on the proposal of Mayor Josef Ramharter (ÖVP).
In his reasoning, Waldhäusl emphasized that several affected communities had already passed similar resolutions and that Waidhofen should also act proactively in order to be planned from the start. Mayor Ramharter pointed out that the acute care of the population must be secured, while at the same time reforms in health policy must not be excluded. "The municipal budget is heavily burdened and the clinic costs will soon no longer be necessary, changes will come," said his assessment.political discussions and demands
The local council is concerned about the information policy of the state of Lower Austria. Municipal councilor Franz Pfabigan (SPÖ) criticized that many inquiries and petition results often run in the sore. "We want to speak directly to those responsible and demand current information," he said. Vice Mayor Martin Litschauer (Greens) also emphasized that Lower Austria, the only federal state, has not yet submitted a required structural plan for the transparency regarding the Situation in the clinics.
Waldhäusl also made it clear that it was missed in past governments to create such a structural plan. However, this is to be made up for in the next six months by establishing an expert group that will take on this task. Mayor Ramharter announced that he would expect an expert paper by the end of March, which should provide essential information about the situation at the State Clinic.
In another discussion, Ramharter made it clear that the state clinic was well established, not least thanks to the new center for old age medicine. While there could be changes in the departments, however, you do not plan personnel reduction, which should be soothing for the clinic's employees.
The local council therefore sets a clear sign of the maintenance of basic medical care with this resolution. The requirement is to ensure medical care on site and, if necessary, to expand. "It is crucial that the population in rural areas continues to have access to a reliable emergency supply," emphasized Ramharter. The decision is another step in a long -lasting discussion about future health care in the region.
The formal resolution is sent to the Lower Austrian state parliament and the Lower Austrian state government, with an urgent request to ensure medical care at the Waidhofen location. "We have to ensure that our citizens receive the necessary medical services, and we must not forget that earlier reductions in hospital care have raised many questions," added Ramharter.
More information about this development and the concrete content of the resolution are in a detailed report at www.meinbezirk.at to be found.
