UBV Lower Austria starts election campaign: new ways for agriculture!

In just a few weeks, on March 9, 2025, the Lower Austrian farmers will once again choose their representatives in the Chamber of Agriculture. The independent farmers' association (UBV) starts with a remarkable number of around 100 candidates in 16 districts. The chairman Herbert Hochwallner recalled the past election in 2020, in which the association was unexpectedly received 8.73 percent of the vote and thus became the second strongest force behind the ÖVP farmers' association. While the freedom and the SPÖ farmers did not make it back in the last election, the goal of the UBV is now to fight with "new ways in agricultural policy" for more income from farmers, such as Noen.at reported.

The campaign strategy of the UBV

the UBV plans to tackle the current challenges of the agricultural economy and has made 42 claims that put the financial interests of the farmers for the foreground. Hochwallner and his teammates, including chairman Josef Handl and Sonja Schönbichler, have already started the intensive phase of the election campaign. While Hochwallner celebrates the success of the first ballot, he emphasizes the need for reforms in agricultural policy in order to meet the increasing demands of farmers. A central requirement of the UBV remains the improvement of the income situation, which should enable farmers a better life, described nön.at .

The upcoming election campaign will be crucial to further consolidate the position of the UBV in the Chamber of Agriculture and to promote the agenda for an agricultural -friendly policy in Lower Austria. The мевальные вызовы of the country and the economic situation of the farmers form the framework for the coming weeks in which the UBV will do everything possible to position itself as a strong voice of the farmers.
