Conversion to Easypark: So now park in your city cheaply!

Conversion to Easypark: So now park in your city cheaply!

The changeover to digital parking solutions has taken a new step in Austria. From October 1, 2024, the previous mobile phone app, which is operated by A1, will no longer be available in many federal states. The new Easypark app takes its place, which is offered for both iOS and Android. This development affects drivers in federal states such as Carinthia, Styria, Upper Austria, as well as in Tyrol. So far, the changeover has already been carried out in Vorarlberg, Salzburg and Burgenland.

A whole new chapter is waiting for everyone who regularly park their vehicles. In particular, the changeover is a step to standardize parking solutions and aims to offer a more fluid and more efficient parking lot service. The Użytkun are encouraged to switch to the Easypark app by a special link in the cell phone type. This is important to maintain the same tariffs. Those who do not do this could be faced with higher fees.

switch to Easypark

The move to Easypark is not only uncomplicated, but also necessary in order to continue to use the advantageous tariff conditions. Users of the mobile phone app must download the new app and register with their telephone number. To solve the parking certificates, the payment information must be deposited. If the switch is switched via the link in the cell phone app, you can expect a low service fee-only 0.18 euros per parking process. This option protects the account compared to the higher fees of up to 15 percent with a conventional account.

An example illustrates this: For half an hour parking in Tulln, the amount at Easypark increases to 0.79 euros, while when using the link from the cell phone tap app, it only costs 0.68 euros. This makes the change more than worthwhile for drivers.

situation in Vienna remains the same

While most other federal states change their parking solutions, everything remains the same in Vienna. Here the cell phone app continues to be operated directly by the city, and the use of Easypark is not so profitable. Parking an hour in the Viennese short park zone costs 2.50 euros, while at Easypark the fees with an additional service fee increase from 0.49 euros to EUR 2.99.

An important advantage for the Viennese users, however, is that they can continue to use their previous credit in the cell phone-type app. In addition, there is the possibility to buy and fill out parking tickets in paper form. This means that access to parking tickets is flexibly designed for all users without the compulsion to switch to a digital system.

If you choose the new Easypark app, you can solve its parking certificates digitally not only in Austria, but also in numerous European cities such as Graz, Salzburg, and in over 20 other countries, including Germany and Switzerland. In total, the app is accepted in around 3,700 cities worldwide. The implementation of digital solutions when looking for a parking space not only aims at convenience, but also on simplifying the entire parking process for the users.

More information about the specific requirements and options for switching to the Easypark app are available via the mobile phone app or the official website. There are also no changes for drivers who want to continue to use the classic parking machines, because they will still be available in all affected federal states.
