Ugur OK takes over McDonald’s in Tulln and Stockerau: A new beginning
From November 1, 2024, a new wind goes through the McDonald’s restaurants in Tulln and Stockerau. Ugur OK, a 41-year-old Lower Austrian, takes over from Winfried Schmitz, who withdraws from other companies. OK has many years of experience in the fast food industry, since he has been working for McDonald’s since 2000. His career started as a crew employee and extended to his last Position as Head of Development and Real Estate.
ugur OK, who grew up in St. Pölten, has done a lot for the company. After starting in the Krems restaurant, he was soon promoted to the restaurant manager and took over several locations in Vienna before joining McDonald’s Austria's service team. There he was responsible for the management of 29 directly operated restaurants in five federal states. "It fulfills me with pride and anticipation to promote the restaurants in a new function and shape it," said OK for the takeover.
a seamless generation change
The handover of Schmitz to OK is part of a larger generation change at McDonald’s Austria. The 72-year-old Schmitz started his franchise career in Tulln in 1995. Even if he now gives two more restaurants, he sees the future positively for these companies. He praised his successor to be qualified and capable of promoting developments and creating a great experience for the guests.
"I would like to thank all employees for the cooperation and success of the past few years," said Schmitz, while expressing his gratitude for working together. In the fast food world, where over 90 percent of the restaurants in Austria are run by franchisees, the family organization is of great relevance in these companies. The staff is often very closely connected, which creates a family atmosphere.
Agnieszka Pichta, franchising manager at McDonald’s Austria, welcomed Ugur OK in his new position and emphasized the importance of his experience for the future success of the restaurants. "We warmly welcome Ugur Ok as a franchisee and wish him every success as an entrepreneur," she said.
