Criticism of the Future Conference: FPÖ questions the proximity to the citizens in Tulln
in Tulln, Mayor Peter Eisenschenk from the ÖVP organizes a "future conference" to present the results of his "Tulln tour". This conference, which is planned for Saturday, should offer a platform for exchange with the citizens. The FPÖ, on the other hand, made its dissatisfaction with the process before the event. Member of the state parliament and city councilor Andreas Bors explains that the integration of the population is fundamentally positive, but the low participation in the tour - less than five percent of the approximately 17,000 inhabitants - is worrying.
"The response shows how manageable the interest was - or how little trust the citizens have in this format," explains Bors. Despite the multitude of appointments during the Tulln tour, many concerns of the citizens were not treated satisfactorily. An example that he gives is the need for a noise barrier for several districts. The mayor announced that he delegates the matter to ASFINAG, which Bors sees as inadequate.

The FPÖ sees the necessary improvements in communication between citizens and the city administration. In addition, Bors mentioned that the mayor had not properly informed the public when renaming the air base in Langenlebarn. "The citizens were lied to. The mayor claimed that he was holding out. But he actively intervened to drive this renaming - contrary to the will of many residents," said Bors.
In contrast to the expenditure for the future conference - which are booked with 46,000 euros - the FPÖ criticizes that there is no budget for simpler inquiries, such as setting up a traffic mirror. "It is unacceptable that there is money for an expensive event, while there is no space in the budget for important concerns," emphasizes Bors, who also indicates the upcoming elections and promises to stand up for the citizens' concerns.
The FPÖ plans not to participate in the future conference, which is to take place on November 30th. There experts want to illuminate the future of Tulln and present the results of the "Tulln Tour". "Money that is missing elsewhere is issued here. This shows that the concerns of the citizens are not taken seriously," concludes Bors.
The opposite position is represented by Peter Höckner, the faction chairman of the TVP. He speaks of an exaggeration of the costs and announces a factual argument: "We will not become personally, but continue to react objectively. The truth lies on our side," says Höckner.
The Tulln conference is offered as a free event and is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Interested parties have the opportunity to register at this link .
