Fueling before the turn of the year: This is how drivers save in Lower Austria!

From January 1, 2025, the price of petrol and diesel in Austria will increase again. Carbon dioxide emitted for each ton of tonne must then pay 55 euros instead of 45 euros. According to Franz Pfeiffer, President of the ARBÖ in Lower Austria, drivers should take the opportunity and replenish their tanks by December 31, so as not to pay for fuel unnecessarily. The price increase through the CO2 tax has an immediate effect: Diesel is 16.5 cents per liter more expensive, Eurosuper by 15 cents. Without this tax, a 50-liter tank filling diesel could be over eight euros cheaper, with Eurosuper it would be around 7.50 euros.

This tax measure has significant consequences, especially for commuters and low -income people in Lower Austria, since many are dependent on their car. The rush at the petrol stations should be great in view of the upcoming price increase in the coming days. Therefore, it is advisable not to wait too long to avoid traffic jams at the petrol pumps, as well as reported.

charging infrastructure for electric cars

ADAC , 7,420 charging stations with a total of 20,376 charging points are currently available. The network is growing continuously in order to meet the needs of electric drivers.

There are two main types of charging stations: AC charging stations that are used for normal and slow charging and DC charging stations designed for fast charging. The latter are often also equipped with interim locks. Electric car drivers should carefully plan their routes to ensure that they find enough charging options along their trip. The ADAC Drive app is a useful tool that shows where the next charging stations are located and what number of loading points is available there.
