Stadttheater Wiener Neustadt celebrates spectacular reopening for the 230th anniversary
The Stadttheater Wiener Neustadt has opened its goals again for the 230th anniversary. During yesterday's reopening, which was led by managing director Maria Großbauer, guests from the areas of art and culture, education, business, science and politics were present. The Governor of Lower Austria, Johanna Mikl-Leitner, emphasized that with the reopening of the theater house, a new chapter is being opened in the cultural landscape of the federal state.
One of the main priorities in redesigning the city theater was to combine tradition and innovation. The theater is equipped with the latest technology and offers a pleasant atmosphere for both visitors and artists. In addition, the city theater should become a fixed part of the cultural offer of the entire region. The focus was also on the creation of a strong theater axis from the St. Pölten State Theater to Wiener Neustadt.
Mikl-Leitner emphasized that the Tonkünstler Lower Austria now has a new home in the city theater. The orchestra will reside there and at the same time shine with top -class concerts worldwide. The governor also emphasized that the reopening of the theater not only created the prerequisites for a strong cultural region in southern Lower Austria, but also more space for the freedom of art.
The mayor of Wiener Neustadt, Klaus Schneeberger, thanked everyone involved for the great work in the redesign of the city theater. He emphasized that culture has been a central aspect of the further development of the city in the past ten years. The Stadttheater Wiener Neustadt is another highlight of the cultural offer and a place that appeals to young and old alike.
At the opening gala, the visitors were offered outstanding performances. The Tonkünstler Lower Austria played under the direction of Lorenz C. Aichner together with the star violinist Lidia Baich. Ina Regen and Andreas Schager also shone singing. The opening of the city theater was broadcast live on ORF III and Radio NÖ.
