Jägerbau: A century in the service of the region and its people

In a moving celebration, the construction company Jägerbau celebrated its 100th anniversary. The history of the company has accompanied many social changes since it was founded in 1919 when Rudolf Jäger returned from captivity and took over the Zeilinger company. But not only the foundation is remarkable, but also the courage of his wife, Franziska Jäger, who continued the company in 1948 and set the course for the future.

The company traditionally trains its own specialists. Under Franziska Jäger's successor, her son Helmut Jäger and Erich Schätz took responsibility and thus promoted the company's expansion. As early as 1961, the company employed over 200 people, which testified its strong position in the region. It was the innovation spirit and the openness to new vertical methods that Jägerbau made known far beyond the regional borders.

generation change and change of location

The generation change between 1994 and 1996 was crucial for further development. Long-standing employees were given the management, whereby Josef Sekora, Leopold Pasteiner and Gabriele Straube estimates were now at the wheel. This step brought a breath of fresh air to the company, which now also focused on economic focuses such as gravel and gravel acquisition as well as concrete production. In 2009 the move to the new location in Unterradlberg took place, where it has been flourishing since then. In 2023, the company received a name change to hunter building, which gives its own roots again.

The close connection of the managing directors with the company is unmistakable. Leopold Pasteiner proudly expressed that more than 100 apprentices were trained by the company, many of whom remained in the company for a lifetime. "Everyone has the opportunity to get to a leadership position from the apprentice," he emphasizes. These values are also supported by Managing Director Christof Mandelbauer, who emphasized the importance of the employees as supporting pillars of the company.

The hymns of praise for the company also came from external. Mayor Matthias Stadler paid tribute to the numerous projects that Jägerbau realized in the region, including the renovation of the former synagogue and the construction of residential projects and innovation centers. Such great achievements show the role of the company as an engine for the region.

The positive prospects for the future of hunter building underline the current full order books. There are exciting times ahead and the company is ready to continue to play an important role in the construction industry. "We are quickly where we are needed," says Mandelbauer.

How the events of the 100th anniversary of Jägerbau continue remains to be seen. There are numerous challenges, but the clear vision and the commitment of the employees will certainly help the company remain successful for many more years.
