Flower art from St. Pölten: Carina Mader inspires with creativity
In Lower Austria, a creative festival will take place on October 19 and 20, 2024 that celebrates the diversity of artistic work. At around 350 locations, over 1,000 artists show their works, including the talented Carina Mader, known as "Camarina" from St. Pölten-Viehofen. In a conversation with MeinDeiten St. Pölten she describes how its connection to nature and in particular Flowers shapes their creative work.
Camarina describes her creative process as an expression of her soul. "I mainly work with natural materials, especially with flowers," she explains. This passion for flowers was already created in childhood. "I always picked flowers outside and bound bouquets," says the artist. With 14 years of experience in jewelry design, she today experiment with a variety of techniques that range from glass ball chains with pressed flowers to bracelets with gemstones.
The role of nature in Camarinas works
A thread runs through all its works that reflect a deep connection to nature. In the markets on which she sells her creations, visitors feel their passion and linger to admire art. "It's nice to see how people react," she says. Although she has been a full -time artist since this year, the decision to go into independence has changed her lives sustainably. "Art is the only way in which I have the feeling of really expressing my joy and soul," she emphasizes.
Camarina also operates an online shop, but her heart beats especially for the markets. "Marketing is just my thing," she says. The “Open Ateliers' Days” are a highlight a year for them. She has been participating since 2019 and appreciates the opportunity to exchange ideas with other artists and visitors. "The event is well organized and I just love it," she says enthusiastically.
The “Selfcare FlowerGirls” project is particularly important to her, which serves as a therapeutic tool for working with the inner child. Each "girl" receives a positive saying and a corresponding bouquet of flowers. "They are very popular, especially as a gift for special occasions such as baptisms or first communion," she adds. Despite all the challenges, she never recites her decision to become an artist self -employed. "I am ready to carry the consequences," she emphasizes confidently.
