Chess youth from Bad Erlach fetches double national championship titles!
Dorfgasse 11, 2822 Bad Erlach, Österreich - in Raach/Hochgebirge was sparked with chess fever when the Bad Erlach chess club with a young team of seven talented players had the biggest appearance at the state school championships. With impressive performance, two of the young players got the coveted national championship titles in their age groups. Erik Nowy triumphed in the U8 with the maximum point outlet, while Raphael Blazek collected a total of 4.5 points in the U12 with four wins and a draw and also took first place, as reported the Lower Austria Nachrichten.
These two talents are proudly represented at the Austrian school championship, which takes place around Pentecost. The good results were supplemented by Samuel Molnar and Jannis Schwarz, who took fifth and sixth place. The youth coach Josef Petz and chairman Michael Luef were enthusiastic and are certain that the consistent promotion of the youngsters that the club has been pursuing for several years is absolutely the right way. The Schachklub Bad Erlach continues to promote single children and adolescents through regular club evenings that take place every Thursday from 6 p.m. and special training that is offered every Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Participation in the training is free and open to all interested children from 6 years. Particularly talented players have the opportunity to develop in a special youth team that is active in the 2nd class industrial district. The training and the club evenings take place in the Café-Restaurant Sabine in Bad Erlach, where chess friends are welcome.
