Necessary street work on the A8: full closure on Sunday

Next Sunday, October 27, 2024, the A8 motorway near Neunkirchen will be temporarily completely blocked for road users. This was announced on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, by the West of Autobahn GmbH branch in an official message. An acute damage that must be remedied for traffic safety is the reason for this measure.

The blocking extends via the directional lane to Luxembourg, specifically between the junctions Neunkirchen-Kohlhof and Neunkirchen-Oberstadt. The work begins at 8:00 a.m. and should continue until 6:00 p.m. so that road users have to adjust to longer waiting times.

In order to steer traffic during work, Autobahn GmbH has determined the corresponding diversions. The national traffic towards Luxembourg will be led by Furpach to the Oberstadt junction from the Kohlhof junction via L114, Limbacher Straße and Zweibrücker Straße. Local road users who want to go to Neunkirchen can use the Wellesweiler junction.

Despite working on a Sunday, traffic disorders can be expected. Autobahn GmbH advises drivers to pursue the current reports on radio and, if necessary, adapt their route planning to avoid delays. A punctual arrival should also be planned for the detour route.

The Western branch of Autobahn GmbH asks all road users to drive carefully on the detour routes and to bring understanding for the traffic impairments caused by the necessary work.
