Nibelungenstadt attracts big visitors on a long night of the museums
The long night of the museums in Pöchlarn was a complete success and attracted numerous visitors who were able to inspire the city's cultural treasures. At four different exhibition venues, the guests had the opportunity to deal with art and history up close.
A particularly popular goal was the Oskar Kokoschka Haus, where flash tours gave guests impressive insights into the life and work of the famous artist. In addition to Kokoschka, visitors were also able to discover the rich Roman history of the region in the Roman Museum. A city tour started from the WelSerturm, which illuminated the Roman roots of Pöchlarn. The Hufeisturm, which was only accessible to the tours, enjoyed great popularity among those present.
a new home for the Nibelungen
One of the highlights of the night was the opening of the exhibition "Nibelungen in the tower". In a dedicated initiative, the ÖVP Cultural City Councilor Jasmin Fuchs organized the purchase and restoration of the Nibelung figures after the castle ruin Aggstein announced to dissolve the old exhibition. After intensive preparations, Siegfried, Kriemhild and her companions have now found a new home in the Pfeifer tower and present themselves freshly restored to a wide audience.
The ceremonial opening of the exhibition was carried out by Jasmin Fuchs and Mayor Barbara Kainz (ÖVP), which underlined the importance of this collection for Pöchlarn. At the event, the guests also enjoyed musical performances at all four museum locations that contributed to the festive atmosphere. The event only ended at midnight and left a lasting impression with the visitors.
The long night of the museums hit the nerve of the times and once again demonstrated how important culture and history are for the sense of community. For more information about this cultural event, interested readers can report the reporting on www.noen.at read.
