Charity art project: pianos shine colorful for a good cause
Charity art project: pianos shine colorful for a good cause
In the Boomerang action park in the blind market, an exciting and unique charity art project is launched. Here, talented artists make pianos that can no longer be used for musical purposes into creative works of art. These special instruments, many from the 19th century, originally come from Vienna, a city that is considered the world capital of music. The proceeds from the auction of these works of art, which will take place in early March, benefit women and children's facilities in the Mostviertel.
The initiator of the project, Gerhard Auer, is firmly convinced that these valuable piano should not simply be thrown away: "There is too much love in these instruments - from construction to making music," he says. The aim is to breathe new life into the piano and to make them usable as an inspiring decoration in public and private spaces.
artistic design and variety of topics
on time for the beginning of the project on January 16, 2025, an event that is called "prelude", the artists on site begin to design their piano live. Each piano will address a certain topic, including exciting considerations for speeds, seduction, friendship or nature. This diversity of topics opens up great freedom to live out and work together for those involved.
A particularly outstanding work of art is created by the Ybbsitzer metal artist Joe Wahler, who was previously known in the Alpine region through his impressively designed bridges. His exclusive work is presented under the "Romeo & Julia" balcony of the action park and should inspire and surprise visitors.
on March 7, 2025, International Women's Day, a jury will evaluate the finished works of art as part of a festive event. The artists then have the opportunity to auction their works as a "art decoration". The entire proceeds flows into charitable purposes that support women and children. This auction is not only a cultural highlight, but also a significant step to support important social projects.
The event is entitled "Piano Ti Ti Amo" and should not only celebrate art, but also offer the participants a platform to demonstrate their skills and get in touch with a wide audience. The desire to promote the joy of creative work is the top priority in this project. "Good craftsmen does not lose value," emphasizes Auer, addressing the philosophy behind this series of events.
The participating artists also bring impressive backgrounds and styles into the project. Manuela Osthoff from Düsseldorf performs abstract acrylic art with her unique "Cubes technology" and gives the wings a three-dimensional effect. Stephanie Balih from Wieselburg wants to spread the feeling of lightness and harmony in her work and uses acrylic and oil paints.
The event series are further overlaps of certain objects in planning. "We want to actively promote the art scene in our region and give people the opportunity to discover the diversity and creativity of our artists," concludes Auer.
The anticipation for the premiere of this special art project is already noticeable, and the initiators expect numerous visitors both at the start event on January 16 and when presenting the works of art on March 7, 2025.
