Lower Austria in the sign of literature: readings and conversations

An exciting series of readings that operates under the title "The Land reads" was recently opened in the House of Generations in Grafenwörth. Originally planned for September, these readings had to be postponed due to the flood situation. The start was celebrated by the authors Beate Maxian and I. L. Callis with their crime thriller "The dark shadow of metropolises", who took visitors into the world of mysterious metropolises.

In the coming days, literary fans will get their money's worth in the region. On Tuesday, October 22nd, the Viennese writer Gertraud Klemm will read from her work "Feminism and Reality" in the Hainfeld (Lilienfeld district) from 7:00 p.m. The following day, October 23, from 6.30 p.m. the well -known writer Bettina Balaka and the Swiss actress and author Judith Keller in the Mödling library can be heard with her work "The Unpleasant Anyzoma".

A special highlight will take place on Friday, November 8th, in the Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn community center (Baden district). The communication scientist Didi Drobna and ORF journalist Georg Ransmayr will talk about the Hirtenberg ammunition factory from 6 p.m., which tells a dark story from the time of the Second World War. Both the role of the "patron king" Fritz Mandl and the topic of the forced laborers are considered, which leads to different insights into the historical topic.

The format "In conversation" offers insights into the literary world of the Japanese-Austrian writer Milena Michiko Flasar on Saturday, November 9, from 7:00 p.m. On Sunday, November 10th, the reading of Thomas Sautner, an author from Gmünd, will take place from 6 p.m. in the ballroom of the Tulln sports agent school, where he will also read from his works. The readings offer a great insight into the individual writing styles and topics of the authors.

On Tuesday, November 12th, Josef Haslinger, a writer born in Zwettl, will speak together with the Vienna Philosopher and Publicist Isolde Charim in the newly opened St. Pölten City Library. An exciting exchange about "literature as a living voice of democracy" is expected, which indicates the current social meaning of literature.

The series of events will continue on Thursday, November 28th, with a conversation in the Vierzigerhof in Langenlois (Krems district), where Hanna Prandstätter from the archive of contemporaries will discuss with Zdenka Becker from 7:00 p.m. On the same evening, Julian Schutting, also from Amstetten, and the Swiss Armin Senser in the town hall hall Neulengbach (St. Pölten district) will present the band "As a guest in the poet-habitat-W.H. Auden.
