Gänserndorf defies the recession: stability on the labor market
The situation on the job market in the Gänserndorf district shows remarkable resilience in the middle of the nationwide economic challenges. Despite a general recession, the number of unemployed has changed only slightly, which underlines the stability of the Region.
Current figures from the Labor Market Service (AMS) Gänserndorf show that a total of 4,223 people are registered unemployed at the end of October or are in training programs. This represents an increase of only 48 people or 1.1 percent compared to the previous year. It is noteworthy that Gänserndorf takes second place in Lower Austria, right behind the Lilienfeld district, where the increase was even lower.
Open places and employment dynamics
The dynamics on the regional labor market remains remarkable. According to AMS, 4,411 unemployed have found a new job this year, which corresponds to a decline of 60 employees or 1.3 percent compared to the previous year. At the same time, there are 2,278 vacancies already occupied, which also represents a decline of 136 positions or 5.6 percent.
By the end of October, 435 vacancies were also reported to the AMS Gänserndorf. This is a decline of only 11 jobs or 2.5 percent compared to the previous year, which only shows a marginal slump. These figures indicate that despite the overall economic uncertainties, there is still a need for workers.
In summary, it can be said that the Gänserndorf district has remarkable stability despite the challenges on the labor market. "Gänserndorf is a rock in the surf," sums up Ams boss Georg Grund-Groiss.
