Ownership tax: Lower Austria Bauernbund raises the alarm for agriculture!

This week, the Lower Austria Bauernbund launched its important district conferences in Lower Austria. The events are held at a total of 63 different locations based on the old district court seats. The officials come together directly to exchange ideas and concerns in personal conversations. The Lower Austria Bauernbund brings it to around 100,000 members and thus represents the largest sub -organization of the ÖVP, for which over 15,000 officials are invited to actively participate in the conferences.

The start took place in Lilienfeld, where the President of the Chamber of Agriculture, Johannes Schmuckenschlager, warmly welcomed the participants. With the conferences, the Lower Austrian Bauernbund moves in a critical phase while the government negotiations are running.

position to control ownership

A central topic that Schmucklschlager spoke about was the rejection of ownership taxes, which in his view is intolerable for farmers. He clearly emphasized: "Ownership taxes are a red line for us. With us in the government, this will not exist!" The concerns of the farmers are at the top of the agenda, and the focus is on combating tax increases that would also put a strain on the family businesses. Instead, solutions are searched for relieving the companies and increasing their performance.

In addition, the Lower Austrian Bauernbund expressed the desire for a de -bureaucratization in agriculture. An inflation adjustment of the EU agricultural funds and the continuation of the agricultural reimbursement are further claims that were formulated at the conference.

A particularly critical topic concerns pricing for agrardiesel. While many EU countries only tax a minimal or not at all, domestic farmers have to carry around 40 cents per liter of diesel-and that could exacerbate due to the temporary relief measures.

Schmuckenschlager explained: "Diesel is without alternative in agriculture. Modern machines and devices are dependent on this fuel, and there is simply no economically sensible alternative. Anyone who questions the agrardiesel will risk the efficiency and future of our farms and put our security of supply."

Another important topic that was addressed at the conference is the current scandal regarding the delivery freeze from NÖM at Spar, which affects a particularly large number of dairy farmers in the region. These developments require a quick and well -founded reaction to support those affected.

Schmuckenschlager emphasizes the importance of direct communication: "We do not distribute a direct lettering to our officials, but receive a job order in direct conversation." This emphasizes the differences to other organizations and is considered one of the greatest strengths of the Lower Austria farmers' association. The district conferences thus offer a valuable platform for concerns that affect the future of agriculture in Austria
