The craft has developed significantly in recent years. Hubert Reichl, teacher in the area of lettering design and advertising technology, described the latest trends: "formerly referred to as shield makers, our department today includes lettering design, 3-D printing and the creation of lighting software, while traditional techniques such as calligraphy are still being taught." This innovative strength shows how important it is to go over time and to react to the needs of the market.
Currently around 140 pupils attend the state vocational school in Lilienfeld and striving for careers as a painter, plasterer, lettering designer, wallpaperer, saddler, floor layer, cleaning technician, tiler, Hafner or chimney sweeper. Nevertheless, the professional prospects for graduates remain.
Interest in craftsmanship, despite the challenges, remains high, and the school remains committed to offering high -quality training programs. The open house not only illustrated the developments in the apprenticeships, but also the possibilities that are open to the students.
