Young people from Passau and Krems: Build bridges through friendship
An exciting meeting recently took place in the Zeughaus youth center when young people from the cities of Krems and Passau presented their experiences from a special exchange project. Under the title "Krems meets Passau, Passau meets Krems", seven young people met to share personal impressions and memories from their time in the twin city. With photos and a passenger video, they led those present through their experiences and showed that the urban friends would go far beyond the theoretical agreements.
The group, consisting of Victoria Schaal, Lena Menz, Laura Wall, Luisa Schraml, Anastasiia Berezina, Johanna Waldherr and Korbinian Wieser, was accompanied by city youth workers Edmund Kriegl. Passau represented this committed delegation during her stay in Krems and took the opportunity to establish deeper friendships.
a warm welcome and special encounters
At the event, the group was warmly welcomed by Mayor Jürgen Dupper. In addition to many representatives of Passau city politics, a delegation of local politicians from Krems was also present, including Mayor Peter Molnar, who visited Passau for the first time. This historically significant moment was captured with a symbolic handshake between Dupper and Molnar, which underlines the friendly exchange between the two cities. Kriegl praised his group for their enthusiasm and said they were "a real main prize" for the project.
Then the youth delegation presented a ten -minute film that was cut together with great attention to detail from her photos and videos. This presentation gave the audience a lively impression of their adventures and the many new friendships they could close during their stay. But not everything went smoothly; Some participants reported challenges when buying fruit due to linguistic barriers - a humorous anecdote that illustrated the difficulties of intercultural exchange.
An interesting point that came up during the discussion was the remarkable difference in the name for fruit varieties: "We do not say, apricot's apricot," stated Korbinian Wieser and thus found one of the small but fine differences between the two regions.
The event impressively showed how valuable such exchange projects are. The young people not only experienced the culture of the twin city, but also learned a lot about themselves and their own identity in the context of international relationships. These connections promote the open exchange and the mutual understanding between the two cities, which is of great importance in today's globalized world.
