Discover art at the long night of museums in Krems!
On Saturday, October 5th, a special event will take place in Krems: the long night of the museums. From 6 p.m. to midnight, several important cultural institutions opened their doors for all art enthusiasts night owls. The participating places include the caricature museum Krems, the Lower Austria State Gallery, the Museum Krems and the Dominican Church. Here visitors can expect an exciting discovery tour through eleven different exhibitions.
A highlight of this evening will be the atomic tone orchestra Zwentendorf, which will appear at the caricature museum at 7 p.m. The musicians present pieces from the popular American TV series "The Simpsons", which bring the atmosphere of the yellow family to life in a lively way.

The Lower Austria State Gallery becomes another center of creativity in which various art worlds can be experienced. Visitors can admire Claire Morgan's contemporary installation art, which conveys a strong feeling for lightness and impermanence. In addition, a selection of magnificent Wachau images from the state collection is issued. Elfriede Mejchar's photo art, which impresses with her meticulous view of Details, will also be part of the exhibition. There will be two quiz rounds for additional interactivity that take place at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m.
insight into the room installation
The temporary room installation "On Human Level" by Christian Gonzenbach in the Dominican Church of Krems leaves a very special artistic impression. Here the creation myth is interpreted in a new, artistic context, whereby industrial design and baroque sacral art meet.
In order to give visitors a deeper insight into the works of art, the directors of the museums, Gerda Ridler in the Landesgalerie Lower Austria at 6.30 p.m. and Gottfried Gusenbauer in the cartoon museum at 8 p.m. In these tours of the curator, visitors have the opportunity to learn more about the background and thoughts of the artists. In addition, interactive family tours are planned for young and old.
